Picture this:  You’re planning an anniversary dinner for your husband when you realize the restaurant you chose no longer serves his favorite dish of roasted prime rib.  To top it off, it’s Thursday night and you need to make a reservation fast to get that 8 pm seating time on Friday night.
What do you do?  You could start calling/texting/emailing your rolodex and then frantically read 100+ restaurant reviews on different internet sites to narrow down any results (hopefully, they have your same taste!).  That is, if you have the time and energy.

As the global economy worsens, and the holiday season quickly approaches, there are still ways to show someone you care while staying on budget. All you’ll need is patience, an idea, and a little bit of creativity. A gift from the heart means much more than a store bought gift anyway, right? It shows you care, and appreciate them for who they are. If you’re a bit short on ideas, here are a few to get your creative juices flowing.
My first, and favorite, idea is creating a scrapbook. What could show someone you care more than a homemade scrapbook filled with pictures of the two of you. This is a very simple idea, and you can usually purchase a scrapbook at an art store for a few bucks. Then just get some pictures, non-acidic glue, and maybe even some colored paper to make the pages look better. Then just cut and paste to your hearts content.

The second idea, which requires no money at all, is an IOU booklet. This can be a booklet filled with coupons “good for one free…” You can promise a free backrub for your husband or wife, or even promise to (more…)

With gas prices of more than $4 per gallon driving a car is becoming a luxury.I don’t know about you but the high prices of gas are beginning to take a huge chunk out of my budget, so for the past month I have been testing a few gas saving tips.Here is the list I hope that you will find some of these tips useful.

1- Get a GPS: Are you sure that you are using the best route to work? By putting a GPS tracking system in your car you will be able to select the best direct routs to where you want to go. A shorter route equals less gas usage.

2- Buy a fuel-efficient car: With those gas prices you should really consider selling your old SUV.Some of those hybrids achieve mileage of more than 40mpg.

3 - One car for the whole family: If you own more than one car see if you and your family can combine your errands in a way that will require using only one of them
